Acid cleaning = A solvent cleaning process that removes surface contaminants with hydrochloric / sulphuric acid

Descaling = A process to remove lime scale from metal surfaces. Mostly use hydrochloric acid.

Acid pickling = An aggressive form of acid cleaning intended to remove tough deposits of scale and oxides.
